June Home News

June Home NewsThe Taylor Fencing team hopes that you and your loved ones are enjoying a delightful start to the month, and hopefully to the entire season. When you’re lucky enough to live in a place as beautiful as ours, there certainly is no shortage of activities that you can enjoy outside of the house. Well… that would definitely be the case if it wasn’t for a certain little – 2020 problem – that we had. That said, this problem we’re referring to seems to be clearing up, slowly but surely, and the Taylor Fencing team is so excited for all of our current and prospective customers to enjoy the great outdoors and all of the wonderful businesses in your area.

All of this seems a little counterintuitive when you think about the theme of this post, but you know what – Taylor Fencing loves not only contributing to your home but also your neighbourhood and in that spirit, we will always encourage adventures and errands and all things that fall into that arena.

But not today. Today, we return to one of our favourite monthly traditions and that’s our round-up of home news. If you’re newer to the Taylor Fencing blog and our Website in general, we’re so happy to add you to our community. We promise that you will always leave our site feeling motivated, inspired and ready to tackle your next project. And one way that we do that is that once a month, we try to share a summary of the best of the internet. No topic is really off the table. We discuss everything from types of flooring tiles (which we’re about to do), to the best paint colours if you’re trying to create a certain mood in a room. In fact, the more months that we do this, the more fun we get to have, searching for somewhat obtuse or obscure articles that you may not have found otherwise. Don’t worry, you’re welcome. Read on for June’s round-up of home news!

Here’s How You Can Save Up For Your Dream Home

Money and saving can be a tricky topic to navigate. Everyone has an opinion and not everyone’s opinion is alike. But unfortunately, in order to build and cultivate your dream home, you are going to have to start pinching pennies in different ways. Scratch that – you’re going to have to save dollars… lots of them. Even within the first paragraph of this article we learned a fun fact that might come as a surprise – Millennials made up the largest share of homebuyers in 2019… a whopping 37 per cent of the group. Looking forward, they’re expected to form 20 million new households by 2025. The other general themes in the article shouldn’t come as a surprise, but rather a welcome reminder as to what boxes you need to check if owning a home is in your future. Check out the article in its entirety here.

6 Inexpensive Ways To Secure Your Home

Without sounding depressing, having just discussed the need to start saving more and more, here’s another fun one – house safety. Just think of it this way, if you only cross off these two things from your to-do list, you’re already in great shape. We share it here all of the time and we’re glad that this article echoes our sentiment – your home should be comfortable and safe. It should be the place that you look forward to returning to at the end of the day. In fact, it should be the place that you don’t necessarily want to leave in the morning! This kind of information can be very dense when misworded or designed, but this article went the infographic route and we have to say that we’re big fans. See for yourselves here.

The Best Home Security System of 2021

In the same vein, you’re going to want to know which products make the most sense if you’re thinking through doorbells or home security systems in general. Gone are the days when the regular doorbell was enough… especially with so many people shopping online, you want to see who exactly is on your porch and what exactly they’re doing there! It’s actually a bit of a marvel; in just a few short years, companies like Ring have been able to stop all sorts of “porch thieves”, keeping belongings safe and sound with their owners where they belong. This article takes a good and thoughtful look at all of the elements that you should be thinking through if you’re in the market for a high-tech doorbell. There’s nothing wrong with traditional models, but especially if you’re someone who is gone all day or is patiently waiting for and tracking a package, you can find all of the information you need right here. Four Ways To Make Your Home More Energy Efficient

If this month’s round-up seems like a ton of homework for your home, we apologize. It’s just all such important information! This next article certainly demonstrates it and we promise that if you follow all of its tips, there will be a euphoric feeling that really you can’t put a price tag on. We’re talking about limiting your – and your home’s – carbon footprint, an issue that’s been in the news more than ever and making small changes can check this one right off of your list quickly and easily. Bonus… these tips will help you save money on the bills that you’re paying every month anyways. Our favourite tip that they share, which you may not have on your radar… Plant trees near your home for shade. Now, wouldn’t all of us appreciate this first thing in the morning when the sun tends to have a habit to glare through inopportune windows?
